Trenchless Sewer Services in Katy

CIPP Lining & Pipe Bursting for Katy Homes & Businesses

Sewer line damage in Katy often hides beneath concrete slabs, driveways, and established landscaping. Reaching it the traditional way means tearing up the yard, cracking the driveway, and facing weeks of surface restoration on top of the plumbing bill. Trenchless sewer repair reaches the damaged pipe through small access points, leaving the surface above largely intact.

At Life Line Plumbing, we offer two trenchless methods: cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining and pipe bursting. Every job is backed by 24/7 emergency availability and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Our licensed technicians work under the oversight of two master plumbers and serve both residential and commercial customers in Katy and the Greater West Houston area.

If you’re dealing with a slow drain, a sewage smell, or a recurring backup, call us now at (346) 626-4412. Our trucks arrive stocked with the equipment needed to complete most trenchless sewer jobs on the first visit with no waiting on a parts order or a second trip.

How CIPP Lining Works

Cured-in-place pipe lining works by inserting a flexible liner saturated with epoxy resin into the damaged pipe through a single access point. The liner is inflated against the interior pipe wall, then cured using heat, steam, or UV light until it hardens into a seamless new surface inside the existing pipe. The result is a structurally sound pipe within a pipe, with no need to remove the original.

CIPP works well for pipes with cracks, corrosion, or minor joint offsets that still retain enough structural shape to accept a liner. The material resists root intrusion and corrosion and carries an expected service life exceeding 50 years.

How Pipe Bursting Works

When a line is too damaged, collapsed, or misaligned for a liner to be viable, pipe bursting can be the right tool. A bursting head is pulled through the old pipe, fracturing it outward while simultaneously pulling a new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe into place. The result is a fully replaced sewer line without open-trench excavation.

Like CIPP, HDPE pipe resists root intrusion and corrosion and has an expected service life exceeding 50 years. A sewer camera inspection before work begins tells us which method fits your pipe’s condition.

Trenchless vs. Open-Trench: What Katy Homeowners Should Know

Traditional sewer repair requires excavating a trench the full length of the damaged pipe, destroying grass, garden beds, and often concrete in the process. The homeowner ends up paying for surface restoration on top of the plumbing work itself. CIPP lining and pipe bursting each need only one or two small access points, so the driveway, landscaping, and foundation stay largely intact.

A trenchless repair is typically finished in one to two days. Open-trench work often runs a week or more. When the cost of driveway and yard restoration is factored in, the total project cost for a trenchless repair is often comparable to or lower than a traditional repair.

Common Causes of Sewer Line Failure

Knowing what damages sewer lines helps property owners catch problems early. Three causes come up repeatedly in Katy:

  • Root intrusion: Tree and shrub roots seek out moisture and work their way into pipe joints and cracks, eventually causing blockages and structural damage.
  • Aging pipe materials: Clay tile and cast iron pipes, common in older homes, crack and shift at joints over time as the ground around them moves.
  • Grease buildup: Grease that enters the drain hardens inside the pipe, gradually reducing flow and contributing to blockages.
